COSMOPOLITAN published an interview with actress Kim Ji-won on April 17th, in which she graced the cover of the May issue.
As Kim Ji-won reflects on what she would like to hold onto forever, she explains, “As I age, I become aware of the evolution and emergence of new values from existing ones. Through these repeated experiences, I have developed a mindset of continuously learning and growing instead of simply maintaining the status quo.”During her portrayal of Hong Hae-in in ‘Queen of Tears’, she gained insight into the importance of honesty and bravery.
She expressed, “There’s a particular quote from Hae-in that resonates with me. ‘I believe love is not about grand gestures, but about standing by each other through thick and thin.’ In my opinion, love can provide immense support in both joyous and challenging times.”She also shared, “As I reflect on my acting career, I realize that all the characters I portrayed were remarkable individuals whom I admired and wished to support. They were fiercely independent and resolute, with strong convictions and principles. I have learned valuable lessons from each of them.”
The actress expressed her enjoyment of Netflix’s “Money Heist: Korea – Joint Economic Area”and “Chinatown”, stating that she will always give her best effort regardless of the project. She also shared her eagerness to take on a new genre in her future work.

Prior to her role as “Queen of Tears”, Kim Ji-won had already captivated viewers with her exceptional acting skills in her previous roles as Yoon Myung-joo in “Descendants of the Sun”, Yeom Mi-jung in “My Liberation Notes”and Choi Ae-ra in “Fight For My Way”.

In addition, she mentioned, “I am currently watching ‘Queen of Tears’, which is a drama I am a part of. At first, I didn’t actively search for it, but I was eager to watch it. Therefore, my day has been focused on ‘Queen of Tears’, listening to songs and spending time with my dog.”She also shared her recent interest in nature and beautiful landscapes, which she was unable to fully appreciate during the busy filming period. Recently, she discovered a blooming tree that captivated her attention.
