Kim Ji-won: Talented Actress with Idol Prowess

Prior to her acting career, Kim Ji-won had received training to become an idol, which has resulted in her impressive performance abilities. This was evident during her first fan meeting in over ten years of being in the entertainment industry.

Kim Ji-won wowed fans at her recent fan meeting with a variety of captivating singing and dancing performances. However, it was her intense and fiery rap in the song “My House”by 2PM that stole the show. The audience was completely mesmerized as she dominated the stage and transformed into a skilled rapper. The video of her performance quickly went viral on social media, earning her a shower of compliments. Fans even lovingly referred to her as “Jessica K,”a nickname she had during her days of training as an idol.

Despite eventually becoming an actress, Kim Ji-won had originally pursued a career as an idol. She began her training in middle school and dedicated almost three years to developing her skills in singing, dancing, and acting. In 2008, Kim Ji-won was featured in singer Younha’s music video for “Gossip Boy”and also provided backing vocals under the stage name Jessica K.

In 2010, Kim Ji-won made her debut to the public in the music video for “Lollipop 2″with BIGBANG. However, it was her appearance in an OranC commercial that truly launched her into the spotlight in Korea and led to her first acting opportunity. Her striking resemblance to senior actress Kim Tae Hee earned her nicknames such as “OranC Girl,””Lollipop Girl,”and “Little Kim Tae Hee.”

Despite having the chance to make her debut as an idol, Kim Ji-won ultimately decided to give it up as she believed she did not have the necessary singing talent. If she had debuted successfully, Kim Ji-won could have possibly become one of K-pop’s most renowned beauties in the second generation.
