Regarding the incident, I proceeded with the legal process diligently after consulting with my parents.” Kim explained that due to her status as a minor at the time, her lawyer advised her against disclosing the exact verdict or outcomes of the process, asking for understanding regarding the lack of specifics.

Showing remorse for any disappointment her situation may have caused, she expressed, “Regardless of the outcome, I sincerely apologize to those who may have felt disappointment or discomfort because of me. I have taken time to reflect deeply on myself and my actions.” This reflects a mature acknowledgment of her influence and responsibility as a public figure.

Furthermore, Kim Ji-young revealed her intention to re-enter the acting scene, asserting, “Though I went through a difficult time due to being embroiled in a negative situation, this experience has reaffirmed my passion for acting. The controversy surrounding Kim Ji-young began in January 2023 when her ex-boyfriend, referred to as A, accused her of failing to repay money he lent her. In an online post, A detailed that Kim had experienced domestic violence and had incurred significant family debt, alleging that his parents had helped cover her living expenses. He claimed that “One day, she left home without notice, told me not to reach out, and claimed she was dating someone else. The total amount she owes is likely in the tens of millions of won.”

Adding complexity to the situation, Lee Sang-jae, a contestant from Mnet’s “High School Rapper 4,” also accused Kim Ji-young of not repaying him the money he lent her, further intensifying the scrutiny on her personal finances.
