The recent episode of “My Little Old Boy”on SBS featured a trip taken by Kim Hee-chul, Kim Jong-kook, Heo Kyung-hwan, and Lee Dong-gun with their respective fathers.
Seo Jang-hoon inquired about the frequency of calls made by the mothers, to which Kim Hee-chul’s mother replied that she makes calls throughout the day while on trips with friends. She specifically mentioned calling while leaving for the bus, getting on the bus, taking a break at a rest area, exploring interesting places, and sending pictures. Heo Kyung-hwan’s mother chimed in, saying she makes dozens of calls.
And what about the fathers? Lee Dong-gun’s father mentioned, “If Dong-gun’s mom calls first, I’ll be in trouble. We’ll get scolded if we make the first call. Dong-gun’s mom should feel free to call whenever she wants” . Similarly, Kim Jong-kook’s father said, “I rarely call her. My son usually handles it” . Upon hearing this, Kim Jong-kook joked, “They don’t actually do anything, they’re just not divorced” , causing everyone to laugh. In response, Kim Jong-kook’s mother exclaimed in frustration, “You’re making me so embarrassed!”
During the discussion, the topic of how fathers store their wives’ contact numbers in their phones arose. Kim Hee-chul shared that his own father had saved his wife’s number as “My beloved Kim Soon-ja”. He added, “Whenever my mother excuses herself to use the restroom, my dad mysteriously disappears as well. It turns out, he’s simply holding her bag outside the restroom. Our personalities are completely opposite.”
Lee Dong-gun’s father refers to his wife as “Our home”, Heo Kyung-hwan’s father calls her “queen”, and Kim Jong-kook’s father affectionately saves her as “Our child’s mom”.
Lee Dong-gun’s mother shared, “I used to have my son saved as ‘husband’ in my phone, but I have now updated it to his name.”Kim Hee-chul’s mother also disclosed that she had saved her husband’s number as “My love.”Similarly, Heo Kyung-hwan’s mother had stored her husband’s contact as “Beloved dad.”On the other hand, Kim Jong-kook’s mother simply stated, “I have him saved as ‘Father’,”which caused everyone to burst into laughter.
