Kim Min-ju Discusses IZ*ONE’s Close Bond and Family-Like Meetings

On November 1, Kim Min-ju engaged in a conversation with Xports News regarding her upcoming film “Hear Me: Our Summer.” This cinematic piece beautifully portrays the exhilarating and tender experiences of Yong-joon (played by Hong Kyung) as he dives into love, Yeo-reum (Noh Yoon-seo) discovering the essence of sincerity, and Ga-eul (Kim Min-ju) as the supportive friend cheering them on.

Having transitioned from her role in IZ*ONE to acting, Kim Min-ju is making her film debut with “Hear Me: Our Summer.”

As she embarks on her acting career, Kim Min-ju continues to foster strong relationships with her fellow IZ*ONE members, all of whom are forging their own paths. She expressed, “During my free days, I spend almost all my time with the members. We offer each other immense support, catch up on life, and recharge together.”

She continued, “The moments we share are incredibly precious and empower me. We’re there for one another’s endeavors, remaining very close, and we continuously uplift one another.”

In reference to the dynamics within the 12-member group, Kim Min-ju noted that the members she meets can change each time. “We often chatter in our group chat, asking, ‘Who’s available at this time?’ Some join after their commitments while those with early schedules often leave sooner. If everyone’s in Korea, we aim to gather as many as possible.”

Referring to IZ*ONE as family, she said, “In many respects, we communicate even more than I do with my own family. They are friends who encourage me, creating a sense of comfort. They are my family and the first friends I made when I entered the industry. Our years together have made a unique bond.”

Kim Min-ju emphasized how their effortless and genuine camaraderie brings her comfort and allows her to treasure these friendships even more.

“I’m someone who enjoys going along with plans. When a member suggests a meet-up, I usually make an effort to join because I genuinely enjoy our time together and hold it dear,” she said with a smile. “I don’t have many friends, so I truly wish to stay close to the members and continue sharing moments with them for a long time.”

Mark your calendars: “Hear Me: Our Summer” is set to premiere on November 6.
