Kim Min-ju, a former member of IZ*ONE, expressed her feelings about her debut in a commercial film during the press screening of “Hear Me: Our Summer,” directed by Jo Sun-ho, which took place at Megabox COEX in Gangnam, Seoul, on October 28th. The event also featured the participation of director Jo Sun-ho alongside cast members Hong Kyung and Noh Yoon-seo.

During the press conference, Kim Min-ju shared, “I feel an immense amount of nerves as this entire release journey is unfamiliar to me. Being associated with this project is truly a privilege. I had initial concerns due to my limited background in acting, but I was lucky to portray Ga-eul, a character with so many traits similar to my own. The entire journey of preparation was an incredibly rewarding experience.”

Since her tenure with K-pop group IZ*ONE, Kim Min-ju has been keenly engaged in an acting career, taking on the role of Ga-eul, a hearing-impaired swimming athlete who ardently chases her aspirations. In this film, she plays the role of the encouraging younger sister to the central characters.

“Reflecting on the filming process still fills me with deep appreciation,” she remarked. “It’s genuinely thrilling to think that our work will soon be shared with audiences in theaters, and I hope our narrative strikes a chord with many.”

“Hear Me: Our Summer” is a Korean adaptation of a romantic film from Taiwan released in 2010, and it represents director Jo Sun-ho’s second major film following his debut with “A Day” in 2017. The storyline centers on Yong-jun (played by Hong Kyung), who boldly pursues love, and Yeo-reum (Noh Yoon-seo), who slowly unravels her true feelings, along with Yong-jun’s sister, Ga-eul (portrayed by Kim Min-ju), capturing their charming and exhilarating experiences together.
