On August 19th, Xports News reported that Kim Mu-yeol and Shin Si-ah have been confirmed as the main cast for “The Old Woman with the Knife”, directed by Min Kyu-dong. The filming for the movie has recently wrapped up.
“Based on the novel of the same name by Koo Byung-mo, “The Old Woman with the Knife”depicts a conflict between two killers: Hornclaw, a woman in her 60s, and Bullfight, a young man. The story was also turned into a successful musical that ran from March to May.”
In the movie version of “The Old Woman with the Knife” , Lee Hye-young and Kim Sung-cheol were originally chosen to play the roles of Hornclaw and Bullfight. The casting of Kim Mu-yeol and Shin Si-ah further strengthened the lineup. Kim Mu-yeol will take on the role of Ryu, the mentor of Hornclaw, while Shin Si-ah will portray the younger version of Hornclaw and tell her backstory.
Despite his already busy schedule, Kim Mu-yeol continues to be incredibly active in his career. In the first half of this year, he met audiences through the film “The Roundup: Punishment” and also made appearances in Netflix’s “Sweet Home Season 3” and Disney+’s “No Way Out: The Roulette” in July. As if that wasn’t enough, he is also set to star in the upcoming TVING drama “The Queen ‘Woo’” , premiering later this month. And with the recent news of his involvement in “The Old Woman with the Knife” , it is clear that Kim Mu-yeol shows no signs of slowing down.
Despite rising to fame with the 2022 film “The Witch: Part 2. The Other One”, Shin Si-ah has not made any appearances in new projects. This is due in part to the indefinite postponement of her tvN drama “Wise Resident Life”, which was surrounded by controversy due to a resident doctors’ strike. However, her role in “The Old Woman with the Knife”has been confirmed, providing reassurance to her fans.
