On February 16th, officials from the Seoul Seongdong Police Station confirmed the tragic news of Kim Sae-ron’s death at her home at the young age of 25.

The concerning incident came to light when a friend, who was scheduled to meet her, arrived at her residence and felt something was amiss, prompting them to notify authorities.

A police spokesperson remarked, “Currently, no indications of forced entry or foul play have been discovered, but we are thoroughly investigating the circumstances surrounding her death.”

Despite being largely inactive on social media and having turned off comments, Kim made a poignant post on January 26, honoring the late ASTRO member Moonbin on his birthday. In a touching gesture, she altered her profile picture to a dandelion, signifying her tributes to Moonbin that resonate deeply with fans.

This tribute carries an additional layer of sorrow, as Moonbin himself passed away unexpectedly just months earlier, also at the age of 25, creating a heartbreaking parallel in their stories.

Kim Sae-ron first captured the spotlight with her captivating performance in the 2009 film “The Man from Nowhere.” She also acted in popular series such as “High School: Love On” and “Mirror of the Witch.” Unfortunately, her career took a downturn following a DUI incident in May 2022, resulting in a substantial fine of 20 million KRW and a subsequent cessation of her professional engagements.

Her final role was in the 2023 Netflix series “Bloodhounds, ” which was completed prior to the fallout from her DUI incident. Plans for her return to the stage with the production “Dongchimi” in May 2022 were ultimately scrapped due to health issues.
