According to a statement from the production team of tvN’s drama “Queen of Tears”on April 18th, it was revealed that Kim Soo Hyun had recently recorded the OST for the show.
The production team and Kim Soo Hyun worked diligently to prepare in order to show their appreciation and gratitude to the viewers. Tune in to the broadcast to see which songs will be featured in which scenes as a way of repaying the love and support from the audience.
It has been 10 years since Kim Soo Hyun directly participated in singing an OST, with the last one being the OST “If I..”from SBS’s drama “My Love from the Star”on February 29th, 2014. This was followed by the release of “Promise”on March 13th of the same year.
Kim Soo Hyun’s singing abilities have been previously recognized through his OSTs, such as “Dreaming”for KBS 2TV’s “Dream High”and “Only you, my love”for MBC’s “Moon Embracing the Sun”. As a result, there is much anticipation for the new voice and emotional depth that he will bring to the OST of “Queen of Tears”.
In the meantime, “Queen of Tears”portrays the tumultuous turmoil and miraculous revival of romance between Hong Hae In (Kim Ji Won), a third-generation heiress of Queens Group, and Baek Hyun Woo (Kim Soo Hyun), the son of farmers from Yongdu-ri, during their three-year marriage.
The outstanding acting skills of Kim Soo Hyun, Kim Ji Won and the rest of the cast contributed to the success of episode 12 of “Queen of Tears” which was broadcasted on April 14th. According to Nielsen Korea, the nationwide rating for this episode was recorded at an impressive 20.7%. This is a remarkable increase of four times compared to the rating of episode 1, making it the highest rated episode of the drama so far.
With only four episodes remaining out of 16, fans of “Queen of Tears” are eagerly anticipating whether it will surpass the record for the highest rating in tvN’s history. Currently, the top-rated tvN drama is “Crash Landing on You” starring Son Ye Jin and Hyun Bin, which was broadcasted from December 2019 to February 2020. Its final episode achieved a remarkable 21.7% rating, making it the highest-rated tvN drama to date.
