Gold Medalist’s Official Statement

Hello, this is Gold Medalist.

Recently, we have observed a troubling surge in malicious posts and false information being directed towards our artist, Kim Soo-hyun. In particular, unsubstantiated and speculative claims have been propagated widely, resulting in public confusion and damage to the artist’s reputation.

The dissemination of malicious slander, false information, personal attacks, and sexual harassment on online forums and social media platforms constitutes serious criminal offenses that must be addressed seriously. Following active reports from fans and our own diligent monitoring efforts, we submitted a formal complaint to the investigative authorities on April 14, alleging defamation under the Act on Promotion of Information and Communications Network Utilization, as well as insults under the Criminal Act.

Additionally, we express our grave concern regarding the activities of the so-called “cyber wreckers” who fabricate news and engage in cyberbullying—often through edited videos and shorts—while remaining anonymous. As the identities of these individuals are gradually being uncovered, and as legal actions are initiated against them, we are fully prepared to respond assertively, collaborating with international legal representatives for platforms including YouTube and X.

We intend to persist in our efforts to file additional complaints against malicious posts that defame our artist, and we will employ all necessary legal measures to protect his rights and respond firmly to any observable criminal behavior.

Thank you.
