On March 13, news surfaced about Kim Soo-hyun preparing to release an anticipated statement. This revelation sparked a detailed post titled “Kim Soo-hyun’s Expected Statement Scenario for Next Week” on the Pann community platform.

The community post outlined a narrative where Kim Soo-hyun acknowledged a close relationship with the late Kim Sae-ron since her teenage years, stating, “While we shared a bond, our relationship only became serious after she turned 18.” The message elaborated that though they had good feelings for each other, they ultimately parted ways due to irreconcilable differences. Kim Soo-hyun indicated that after their breakup, Kim Sae-ron had reached out a few times, but he chose not to respond in order to avoid any potential for reconciliation.

Furthermore, the post revealed his internal conflict upon hearing about Kim Sae-ron’s passing. He considered whether to send a wreath or attend her funeral quietly, reflecting the public scrutiny surrounding their relationship. Ultimately, he decided that sending a wreath might overshadow the memorial’s significance, preferring to keep his condolences private.
This narrative closely mirrored the official statement issued by Kim Soo-hyun’s agency on March 14. In this communication, the agency clarified, “Kim Soo-hyun and Kim Sae-ron began dating in the summer of 2019, once Kim Sae-ron was of legal age, and their relationship lasted until fall 2020. Any claims regarding a relationship while she was a minor are categorically false.”

The agency supported its claims with a specific photo of Kim Sae-ron donning a T-shirt from June 2019. They explained, “The photo released by Kim Sae-ron on March 24, 2024, alongside one published by the Garo Sero Institute on March 11, shows interactions from winter 2020, contradicting claims that the photo was taken in 2016.”

Additionally, regarding an alleged letter Kim Soo-hyun sent to Kim Sae-ron during his military service, the agency clarified that it was merely one of several letters to friends. They stated, “The phrase ‘I miss you’ is commonplace among soldiers and has been misconstrued by Garo Sero.”

The community’s reaction was intense, with netizens expressing their frustration through comments such as, “I came for a pilgrimage, ” “The statement matched our predictions perfectly, ” and “It’s as if the statement was written in accordance with this scenario.”
This striking resemblance between the anticipated post and Kim Soo-hyun’s official statement has led many online users to voice their skepticism regarding the situation’s authenticity, raising questions about the motivations behind such responses.
