On March 15, in a public statement, Gold Medalist, the agency representing actor Kim Soo-hyun, acknowledged the remarks made by Kim Sae-ron’s mother during a broadcast on the Garo Sero Research Institute. The agency expressed a deep understanding of the mother’s distress over the portrayal of her late daughter in various reports, saying, “We empathize with her concerns. However, there are discrepancies between her claims and our understanding of the situation. We wish to meet with her for a comprehensive discussion.”

The day prior, Kim Sae-ron’s mother passionately articulated her frustrations, stating, “Our aim is to restore the honor of my child, whose life was shattered in an instant by countless false reports. We also want to set a legal precedent to hold accountable those malicious YouTubers and trolls who have caused us distress.” She expressed her discontent with certain media outlets and Gold Medalist for allegedly disregarding her claims, which she describes as truth.

Agency’s Response to the Family’s Grievance

In light of these statements, Gold Medalist expressed their sorrow for the suffering endured by the family, saying, “We struggle to find words that can truly comfort a mother grappling with the unimaginable pain of losing her child. Our hearts are heavy for the struggles Kim Sae-ron faced.” Nevertheless, they cautioned, “Debating these matters publicly is not the right approach to honoring the deceased, nor does it align with her mother’s intentions of pursuing justice. We encourage her to reach out to us directly whenever she feels ready.”
