Kim So-yeon and Husband Visit Adult Toy Store for Research on “A Virtuous Business”

On October 11, a press conference for the JTBC drama “A Virtuous Business,” also known as “Quiet Sales,” was held at the Elliena Hotel located in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam, Seoul. Attending the event was Kim So-yeon, who engaged with photographers for a shoot.

During the conference, Kim So-yeon expressed her insights regarding the K-drama, which tackles the relatively unconventional subject of sex toys.

She remarked, “In preparation for my role, I accompanied my husband (Lee Sang-woo) to an unmanned sex toy store. I anticipated it being dark and somewhat uncomfortable, but I was pleasantly surprised by how beautiful, bright, and tastefully decorated the place was. I thought, ‘If the atmosphere is this inviting, I can approach the topic cheerfully,’ so I took the opportunity to learn while I was there.”

“A Virtuous Business” is set in a rural village in 1992, a period when discussions of sex were generally considered taboo. The series follows the “Bangpan Sisters,” a group of four women who navigate door-to-door sales of adult products, highlighting their journey of independence, personal growth, and camaraderie. It presents a bold narrative centered on themes of self-reliance.

The cast includes Kim So-yeon, Kim Sung-ryung, Kim Sun-young, and Lee Se-hee as the “Bangpan Sisters,” while Yeon Woo-jin portrays a mysterious police officer from Seoul. This drama promises to candidly explore previously shunned themes, bringing excitement as it chronicles the characters’ journeys toward independence and development.
