Kim So-yeon Shares Behind-the-Scenes Insights on Kiss Scenes with Husband Lee Sang-woo

On October 14, the Comedian Shin Dong-yeop’s YouTube channel, “Zzanbro,”premiered a new video titled “A Spicy Drinking Session Where Hardships Burst Out Like a Fountain.”

The main cast of the upcoming drama “A Virtuous Business,”including Kim So-yeon, Kim Sung-ryung, and Yeon Woo-jin, participated in this episode, where they shared honest and mature discussions.

During their conversation, Shin Dong-yeop noted that Kim So-yeon celebrates her wedding anniversary on June 9th and playfully inquired, “Did you choose that date on purpose?”

Realizing the subtle humor later, Kim So-yeon laughed, “I suppose that’s why the date was free.”

Shin Dong-yeop followed up with a playful remark, saying, “What I mean is, if you invert 6, it looks like 9, and vice versa, which symbolizes a couple’s ability to see things from each other’s perspectives.”

The discussion then shifted to the actors’ on-screen chemistry, with Shin Dong-yeop mentioning, “A hairstylist I know claims they can definitively tell if actors are involved romantically just by analyzing their kissing scenes. They argue that there should be some psychological distance, but if the actors seem too close, it’s a sign they are truly dating. Is that accurate?”

Kim So-yeon, who started her relationship with Lee Sang-woo on a drama set, confessed with a hint of shyness, “That’s correct. When we were dating, we filmed a crosswalk kissing scene. Even though the shot was from a distance, we ended up kissing quite passionately.”

Keeps sharing her personal anecdotes, Kim So-yeon also remarked, “After we got married, my husband had a kissing scene in another project, and I felt a twinge of jealousy. His expressions seemed too warm. When I mentioned it to him, he wondered why I wasn’t being more understanding.”

She added, “Eventually, I found myself in many passionate kissing scenes, and he said, ‘Now I understand how you felt.’ We agreed that on days featuring love scenes, we would try to avoid watching each other’s performances.”

Further explaining their system, she recounted, “While my husband filmed ‘Red Balloon,’ an intense bed scene aired. I happened to see it while in the room and couldn’t resist watching. He looked incredibly handsome. I didn’t feel jealous; I was impressed by how fit he looked at his age.”

She then discussed the challenges they face as a couple in the acting industry, mentioning how they have developed a system regarding intimate scenes.

The conversation evolved as Kim Sung-ryung asked Yeon Woo-jin about his views on marrying another actor. He replied, “I never considered that before. I always thought I’d prefer a partner who isn’t involved in my line of work. I wasn’t fond of the idea of being so exposed, but now that I’m in my forties, my perspective has changed.”

Adding her insight, Kim Sung-ryung remarked, “In the past, I often advised against marrying anyone in the acting field. But these days, I sometimes feel envious of younger colleagues. My husband genuinely values my career; if I mention quitting, he questions it and even calls my management to check why I’m not working. I’m really thankful for his support.”

She lightheartedly concluded, sparking laughter amongst the group, “I haven’t had many kissing scenes in my roles. I would love to engage in an intense one sometime.”
