Kim Tae-hee Shares Personal Reflections at Myeongdong Cathedral
On the evening of the 10th, renowned actress Kim Tae-hee attended the Lay Sunday homily at Myeongdong Cathedral, a significant venue within the Archdiocese of Seoul. Although she is currently in her off-season, Kim radiated beauty and grace, adorned with a mantilla as she engaged with the youth in a soothing manner, recounting her journey of faith.
Encouraging Words for the Youth
Kim began her address with a relatable confession: “I imagine many of you might wonder why I am standing here. It’s Sunday, so I spent the whole day at home wrestling with my kids and barely made it in time for the service.”
She humbly further noted, “I don’t have anything grand or special to say, but as a fellow believer and, humbly, a senior in faith and life, I wanted to share my personal reflections from my faith journey in a comfortable way.”
Reflections on Life and Faith
During her sharing, Kim reflected on her academic and personal accomplishments, saying, “As many of you know, I was a diligent student, got accepted into my desired university, and was fortunate to gain popularity and experience the love of fans. Now, I have two precious daughters and a harmonious family, which was always a dream of mine.”
However, she poignantly shared that her life hasn’t been devoid of struggles, stating, “However, not every moment over the past 40 years has been happy and worry-free. Life has brought countless worries, conflicts, and challenges, from small, everyday conflicts to significant events that demanded resolution.”
In her vulnerable moments, Kim divulged how her faith has served as a foundation for strength, particularly during times of emotional turmoil, positioning herself as a life mentor for the audience.
A Family Affair
Reports indicate that Kim Tae-hee was accompanied by her husband, Rain, and their two daughters at the Mass. Rain, a former K-pop star who converted to Catholicism in 2014, shares a deep connection with the church, having married Kim in a Catholic ceremony.
