Based on reports from the real estate industry, it was confirmed that Kim Woo-bin successfully bought a building in Nonhyeon-dong, Gangnam-gu, Seoul on March 29 and completed the payment on April 11.
The property, consisting of one basement level, four above-ground levels, and two underground levels, was purchased for 13.7 billion won (equivalent to approximately 10 million USD). Kim Woo-bin made a payment of around 8.3 billion won in cash, obtained an unsecured bank loan worth 6.2 billion won, and paid a 4.6% purchase tax.
BigHit, the agency of BTS, occupied this building as their office from 2007 until expanding to a neighboring building in 2011. In 2020, the agency underwent a rebranding to HYBE and relocated to their present-day headquarters in Yongsan. This building holds a great deal of sentimental value for BTS, as it is where they spent their trainee days and experienced their meteoric rise to stardom.
The sale of the building has caused the BTS fan community (ARMY) to express their disappointment, as the location holds numerous cherished memories and is considered a must-visit spot for fans traveling to South Korea.
As a result, ARMY members had mixed responses to Kim Woo-bin’s purchase of the building, with some expressing worry that the building might undergo renovations and the heartfelt messages and notes from fans would be lost. Currently, the actor has not disclosed his intentions for the building.
Upon being asked about the recent purchase made by Kim Woo-bin, the head of Building Road real estate company, Kim Jae Young, stated that the building is situated in a highly desirable area that is often sought after by celebrities and entertainment companies. He also added that the purchase price of 13.7 billion won seems to be a wise and well-thought-out investment.
In addition to this building, Kim Woo-bin also possesses a residence in Seongbuk-dong, Seoul. He bought the property in June 2008 for 1.52 billion KRW (equivalent to 1.1 million USD) and presently lives there.
