On October 25, Oricon Style magazine unveiled its latest edition of the “Female Stars with the Most Ideal Faces as Voted by Women,” with Kitagawa Keiko once again clinching the top position for the second consecutive year. Remarkably, she has maintained her supremacy in various beauty surveys in Japan, earning herself the distinction of “the most beautiful woman of all time.”
Born in 1986, Kitagawa has retained her captivating charm throughout her impressive 15-year career. Within a span of merely two years, she has dominated eight diverse rankings, securing accolades such as “Ideal Lover,” “Star You’d Want to Date on Holidays,” “Star You’d Like to Spend a Summer Vacation With,” “Star with the Perfect Golden Ratio,” “Most Desired Star,” and “Most Seductive Actress.” Her reign is only matched by fellow actress Aragaki Yui, who is also widely acclaimed as a “national beauty treasure.” The two frequently exchange positions in top rankings, although both are now married and approaching their 40s.
Kitagawa Keiko completed her studies at Meiji University, where she majored in commerce. Her outstanding looks quickly led her to become a model for Seventeen magazine. However, her allure alone was insufficient; she has crafted a remarkable career with a multitude of successful projects. Among her notable performances is that of Rei Hino (Sailor Mars) in the live-action adaptation of Sailor Moon.
Her filmography also includes acclaimed titles such as Housekeeper, Dear Friend, Heavenly Forest, I Want to Eat Your Pancreas, and The Promised Land, and she even ventured into Hollywood with The Fast and the Furious: Tokyo Drift. Kitagawa has garnered several prestigious accolades, including the coveted 41st Japan Academy Prize for Best Supporting Actress.
Apart from her thriving career, Keiko enjoys a fulfilling marriage to Daigo, a rock singer from the band BREAKERZ and the grandson of former Japanese Prime Minister Noboru Takeshita. In 2016, she faced controversy due to the leak of personal photographs, yet her standing with the Japanese audience remained steadfast.
In the latest rankings for the Top 5 Most Beautiful Japanese Female Stars of 2024, Hashimoto Kanna, dubbed the “Once-in-a-Millennium Idol,” secured second place, with Aragaki Yui in third. The “Underwear Goddess” Imada Mio took fourth, and “New Generation Kimono Beauty” Hamabe Minami completed the top five.
