On June 15th, the main cast of the new drama “Miss Night and Day”- Choi Jin-hyuk, Lee Jung-eun, and Jung Eun-ji – were featured as guests on JTBC’s entertainment show “Knowing Bros.”Their appearance sparked a lively conversation and a great time was had by all.
On this particular day, the cast and guests of “Knowing Bros”paired up and acted as if they had swapped bodies during the day and night, similar to the protagonists in the drama.
Kim Hee-chul and Kim Young-chul were discussing the idea of living each other’s lives as they were paired up together. Hee-chul expressed his curiosity about Young-chul’s life, admiring his ability to speak multiple languages and his intelligence. In return, Young-chul shared his desire to live like Hee-chul, dating girl group members and staying out until the early hours of the morning. This brought to mind Hee-chul’s past relationship with TWICE’s Momo for viewers.
A netizen shared a post on the popular Korean online community Instiz, featuring Kim Young-chul’s remarks that were captured in a scene. The majority of Internet users expressed disapproval in the comment section, questioning the relevance of mentioning Kim’s ex in that situation. Many emphasized that Kim Young-chul’s comments crossed a line, stating, “Despite not being mentioned by Kim Hee-chul himself, it appears to be the reason why fans dislike it when idols reveal their dating news.”
The production team also received criticism for not removing the scene from the final cut. A netizen expressed, “It’s concerning that they included her in the first place, but the producers should have taken the initiative to remove the scene.”
Momo has been previously referenced on “Knowing Bros” before. On November 12, 2022, Chae Soo-bin and Choi Min-ho, who were promoting their Netflix drama “The Fabulous,” appeared on the show.
Despite their past romantic relationship, the two eventually became good friends after their breakup. The cast of “Knowing Bros”was intrigued by this and Lee Soo-geun playfully directed his teasing towards Kim Hee-chul, jokingly saying, “Thanks to you, we can’t have the girls from TWICE on our show.”
Furthermore, during a broadcast on August 19 of the previous year, Shin Dong made a statement that “Hee-chul has the most female friends.”This prompted Lee Soo-geun to indirectly mention Momo by stating, “Initially, we assumed she was one of his female friends, but it turned out to be something different.”
In January 2020, Kim Hee-chul and Momo publicly confirmed their relationship, but unfortunately, they ended things in July 2021.
