With the arrival of the Pictomancer in FFXIV’s Dawntrail, significant changes are being made to other magic DPS jobs. These changes include the option to relocate Ley Lines and other enhancements.
The highly anticipated expansion, Dawntrail, will soon be arriving in Final Fantasy XIV. It will bring with it a new MSQ, dungeons, raids, and classes, providing an exciting array of content to anticipate.

General
The primary alteration that will affect all Magic DPS classes is the decrease in cooldown for Swiftcast from 60 seconds to 40 seconds in the level 90s range. Furthermore, in Dawntrail, the duration of Addle will be extended to 15 seconds, aligning it with Feint for melee classes and other tank mitigation abilities.
Black Mage
An interesting change has been made to Umbral Ice for Black Mages. Instead of gradually restoring MP, MP can now be restored by landing ice spells while Umbral Ice is active. As a result, Black Mages will no longer be able to regenerate mana while not actively attacking enemies.
In Dawntrail, Black Mage’s Ley Lines will receive a significant enhancement, granting the caster the ability to relocate them directly beneath themselves.
Summoner
The Summoner has acquired Solar Bahamut as a new summon. This powerful being is similar to both Bahamut and Phoenix.
In addition, Searing Light will receive a boost that enables it to perform a new action after it has been executed.
Class: Red Mage
Red Mage’s Manafication will no longer grant a 50 increase to Black and White Mana. Instead, it will enable the use of enchanted swordplay actions without consuming any mana. This change, along with the adjustments made to Reaper and Machinist, will help Red Mages avoid over capping and improve their overall quality of life.
The enchanted swordplay combo in the AoE version will now require 50 Black Mana and 50 White Mana, making it equivalent to the single-target version.
Pictomancer
The Pictomancer, a newly added Magical DPS class in Dawntrail, utilizes a paintbrush to buff and inflict damage by drawing and creating motifs. By rendering multiple motifs, the Pictomancer can unleash powerful attacks.
Pictomancers are typically considered to be a more supportive class overall, resulting in lower damage output compared to a Black Mage.
