The Korean media 헤럴드경제 exclusively reported the news that the boy group NCT under SM Entertainment is facing the “seven-year curse”and the contract expires.

As the contract renewal issue between YG Entertainment and girl group BLACKPINK member Lisa has surfaced recently, some people worry that NCT, which debuted in the same year as BLACKPINK, will also face renewal issues.

However, a related person from SM Entertainment came forward to respond: “NCT considered factors such as enlistment and overseas activities when signing the contract, and the contract period was also set longer than usual. Although each member is different, there is no contract expiration this year. Members, all members are expected to have their contracts expire after next year.”

NCT made its debut on April 9, 2016 with the subunit NCT U, and the subunits that will be launched later include NCT 127, NCT DREAM, WayV, NCT DOJAEJUNG, and NCT TOKYO to be determined.
