The Korean forum Instiz recently published a topic titled “BTS overseas fandom is outraged by NewJeans’ acceptance speech yesterday, during which they thanked CEO Min Hee-jin.” This post has garnered significant attention.
The article discussed the reactions of BTS fans to NewJeans’ acceptance speech, with a majority expressing negativity towards the girl group.
Specifically, statements such as “I am shocked that they had the nerve to make this speech on her (LE SSERAFIM’s Eunchae) show” , “These girls are unintelligent and cruel for making these remarks in the presence of the girl who was negatively affected by the CEO they are praising” , and “I anticipate their downfall” were cited, indicating that fans of international BTS are disapproving of NewJeans’ acceptance speech.
Despite witnessing these reactions, K-netizens swiftly came to the defense of NewJeans, highlighting that the fans mentioned are not of Korean nationality and therefore have no involvement in the Min Hee-jin controversy as fans of BTS.
Additionally, it was mentioned that BTS fans were responsible for spreading incorrect articles about Min Hee-jin’s press conference, resulting in unnecessary animosity and false information.
Included here are a few remarks from internet users:
- I don’t know if it’s because they’re overseas fans or if it’s the fan mentality, but why do they equate BTS and HYBE? BTS is not HYBE, and they should focus on BTS instead of defending HYBE
- These overseas fans are really crazy huh. Do they seriously think they know more than Korean about an issue in Korea?
- Those company fans are disgusting
- Why are they defending HYBE and criticizing NewJeans. Are they HYBE fans instead of BTS fans?
- Such behavior are seriously so creepy
- If they don’t understand the entire situation, they should have kept their mouth shut
- They are yapping so loudly despite not knowing everything
