On June 1st, photos of a protest truck in front of Starbucks stores in Korea were widely circulated on social media and online communities, such as theqoo.
The truck sent on behalf of international fans in Indonesia is a well-known protest against NCT’s collaboration with Starbucks.
Despite being a popular brand, Starbucks faces widespread boycotts due to their financial support of the intense genocide in Palestine, making them one of the companies avoided by the majority of people globally.
#SM_BOYCOTT_GENOCIDE #SM_BOYCOTT_GENOCIDE We do not want NCT or your artists to be associated with or promote S**BUC*KS or any company that finances genocide in Palestine.Notice our concerns Please do it. @SMTOWNGLOBAL @SMTOWN_Idn @NCTsmtown @pps_kr pic.twitter.com/DdVVnamS8o

The message displayed on the truck stated, “We are opposed to NCT and any other SM artists being affiliated or promoting Starbucks or any businesses that support the genocide in Palestine. We urge you to consider our concerns.”

Theqoo users responded by commenting:
Rather than renting a truck, it would be more beneficial to donate the money towards assisting individuals in Palestine.
“International fans can be frustrating with all their ㅋㅋㅋ.”
What is their issue? Why didn’t they forward it to SM? Please refrain from hindering others’ businesses.
– Kindly utilize that money for donation purposes
“Why not send the truck to Starbucks headquarters in the US instead of the Korean stores? What is the reasoning behind sending it there?”
– You could face a lawsuit for impeding business operations…
– However, isn’t it true that Sinsegae owns Starbucks in Korea?
