Korean Rapper’s Met Gala Outfit Goes Viral for Featuring Yuji Itadori from Jujutsu Kaisen

Jujutsu Kaisen enthusiasts are ecstatic as renowned Korean rapper Hyunjin donned a costume resembling Yuji Itadori at the Met Gala in 2024.

Although it started off as a niche series, Jujutsu Kaisen’s popularity has been steadily rising and gaining global recognition. After achieving high sales in manga and viewership in Japan, the series went on to break a world record as the most sought-after animated series worldwide.

The franchise’s reach has extended to include celebrities, as confirmed by the series’ loyal fan base. The anime resurfaced in the public eye following its appearance at the 2024 Met Gala. Among the many A-list attendees and their stunning attire, Korean boy band Stray Kids made history as the first K-pop group to attend the prestigious event.

The singers made a statement with their outfits, which were all from fashion designer Tommy Hilfiger. Their black ensembles, reminiscent of the black jujutsu high uniforms worn by characters in Jujutsu Kaisen, caught the attention of the internet.

Nevertheless, it was Stray Kids’ lead vocalist Hyunjin who garnered the most focus. In contrast to his fellow members, his attire was accentuated by a red collar and a golden button adorning the front.

After seeing the outfits of Hyunjin and Yuji Itadori, anime fans were quick to point out the resemblance. As the main character of Jujutsu Kaisen, Yuji stands out from his classmates with his slightly different jujutsu high uniform. His black uniform, paired with a red hoodie collar, has become a signature style for the popular anime character.

This resemblance has caused a stir on the internet, as many have noted the striking similarity between the red collar and golden button on Hyunjin’s outfit. Some fans have even dubbed it as Yuji’s “Met Gala debut.”Additionally, it has been pointed out that Hyunjin and Yuji share the same birthday on March 20.

Yuji Itadori was jokingly written about by an X user as arriving at the Met Gala.

“Another fan exclaimed, “From the collar to the button, it’s perfectly on-point!”

“It’s a relief to know that I’m not the only one who shared this sentiment,” remarked another person.

As Jujutsu Kaisen’s impact continues to grow, it is important to keep up with the series and stay updated.
