Ryu Seung-ryong described Disney+’s popular Korean drama “MOVING”as a gift that he never imagined, and he never expected that this work would become one of his “life roles”in his acting career.
In the play, he plays Jang Soo-won, a former dark official of the Ministry of Security and Enterprise and current owner of a fried chicken restaurant, codenamed “Jiulongpu”, who has super regenerative abilities. In addition to the wonderful fighting scenes, the scene where he cried until he collapsed after losing his wife has also become a classic scene.
He was very humble about the fact that he perfectly digested the difficult action scenes, and especially thanked the staff who worked hard to present the action scenes and expressed his respect to them. Ryu Seung-ryong said, “With the care of the staff, I was able to focus on the performance very happily. I am full of gratitude to the staff.”
Even though he wasn’t eager to perform action scenes, he was fascinated by them. Liu Chenglong said: “No matter how gorgeous the non-lun action is, it is not easy to watch it for a long time. Since “MOVING”is a human action drama, it is very attractive to me.”For some relatively bloody scenes, he said: “Due to the superpowers, there may be some parts that are too bloody, but this is not just to show cruelty, but to show the difficulties and struggles these characters have to go through.”
The biggest challenge Ryu Seung-ryong encountered in the play was to play Jang Soo-won in his 20s. When he first read the script, he even thought that this part would be played by other actors, because he never thought that he would need to play Jang Soo-won’s youth. Ryu Seung-ryong said, “Writer Jiang Cao saw a photo of me in my 20s and said: No problem.”
Then, Ryu Seung-ryong continued, “Since I am quite old, playing a character in my 20s is a huge pressure for me. I have to pay great attention to my diet and also start to manage my skin. The makeup and costume team are here They gave me a lot of help.”
