In a peculiar case that sparked a significant online reaction, a woman took to TikTok to express frustration with gluten-free Kraft Mac and Cheese boxes, claiming they were missing the essential cheese packets. This incident prompted responses from Kraft as well as other brands.
The TikTok user, Abby, detailed her experience in a series of videos. Over the past two months, she purchased four separate boxes of gluten-free Kraft Mac and Cheese, only to discover that each box lacked the cheese packet. After reaching out to Kraft for assistance, she was only offered a coupon as compensation, which did not resolve her issue after using it on another box that also lacked the expected packet.
@aceengel “Hi, @KraftMacnCheese, I have tried emailing and calling you about this problem, but your coupon seems like a band-aid, and the problem isn’t being solved in your production.”
Frustrated, Abby shared her message further, emphasizing, “I just want you to know this is happening so you can fix it.” In a response to her post, a Kraft representative commented, “We apologize for this issue. We’re not having any quality issues with our gluten-free Kraft Mac and Cheese.”
@aceengel “I think you still misunderstood my original message. My DMs are open, Kraft. You have my phone number, email, and mailing address.”
Similar Situations Lead to Gratitude from Other Brands
Despite the unresolved issues with Kraft Mac and Cheese, Abby’s social media presence grew, leading to an outpouring of support from various food brands. Companies like Stouffers and Instacart reached out to Abby, providing her with complimentary gluten-free products.
Stouffers sent her a generous package containing cheese packets and several frozen gluten-free meals, including Chicken Enchiladas and Cheesy Broccoli with Bacon. In addition, Instacart delivered bags filled with gluten-free grocery items such as Banza pizza, chocolate Kind bars, and more.
@aceengel “I am truly overwhelmed by the love and support… I cannot believe this is my life. I feel so loved.”
With her story garnering media attention, Abby expressed her heartfelt gratitude for the support she received: “Grateful is an understatement. Thank you from the bottom of my heart.”
Meanwhile, Kraft announced a limited-time collaboration with KFC in August, introducing a new Kraft Mac & Cheese Chicken Sandwich in Canada, though it was not gluten-free. This sandwich remains available in select Canadian locations, illustrating the brand’s ongoing innovation in the market.
