Reflecting on the impact of this cameo, Chu mentioned the emotional benefit it provided to the cast and crew: “It felt like healing for everyone involved.”He expressed his desire for the new audience to experience the same magic that he felt when he witnessed the original performance.

“Ariana was emotional throughout the day, as was Cynthia. The love and camaraderie shared during that shoot were palpable,” Chu recounted. He expressed his gratitude that both Menzel and Chenoweth were able to join them, although he admitted he was not involved in the negotiations for their appearances. “All I needed to know was that they were excited and on board. We only had one day to make it happen,”he said.
