Krookodile weaknesses, resistances & strengths explained in Pokemon

Krookodile weaknesses, resistances & strengths explained in Pokemon

The cunning Krookodile is a formidable Pokemon for Scarlet and Violet battles. To aid in your success, here are its vulnerabilities, immunities, advantages, and most effective attacks.

Despite the introduction of several powerful Pokemon in the meta by Scarlet and Violet, such as the Paradox Pokemon, there are still many popular picks from previous Generations that have a significant impact in the game. One of these species is Krookodile.

Krookodile, a powerful Ground/Dark-type Pokemon from Generation 5, has always been a valuable member of any team. To assist you in mastering this Pokemon, the following will outline its weaknesses, resistances, strengths, and suggested moveset.

Understanding Krookodile Weaknesses in Pokemon

In Pokemon, Krookodile is vulnerable to attacks of Bug, Fairy, Fighting, Grass, Ice, and Water types.

Despite its numerous shortcomings, Terastallization is an effective way to counter them. In my experience, the Poison Tera Type has proven to be a dependable choice, with Dark being another strong alternative.

If you wish to avoid using Terastallization on Krookodile, it would be more beneficial to switch it out since its bulk is only average at best.

Understanding Krookodile’s Resistances in Pokemon

In Pokemon, Krookodile is resistant to Dark, Ghost, Poison, and Rock types, as well as immune to Electric and Psychic-type attacks.

Having immunity to Electric-type moves is an invaluable advantage for Krookodile, as it allows it to directly confront powerful Pokemon such as Miraidon, Raging Bolt, and Regieleki and easily withstand their STAB moves. Electric Pokemon are frequently seen on many teams, making Krookodile a highly effective counter to them.

The Power of Krookodile in Pokemon

Krookodile relies on its STAB Ground and Dark-type moves to effectively damage Pokemon weak to these types, such as Electric, Fire, Ghost, Poison, Psychic, Rock, and Steel.

With its impressive 117 Attack stat, Krookodile is a formidable offensive force, providing exceptional coverage. Furthermore, it possesses a range of excellent abilities such as Intimidate, Moxie, and Anger Point. These attributes make it a terrifying threat on the battlefield.

Intimidate is considered the most beneficial out of the three options, as it diminishes the opponent’s Attack statistic by one stage, allowing Krookodile to endure attacks. However, if you happen to have other team members with Intimidate, such as Salamence or Gyarados, I would suggest utilizing Moxie instead.

Each time an opponent is defeated, Moxie will increase the Attack stat of Krookodile by one stage. With just one boost from this ability, Krookodile becomes an unstoppable sweeper. Having a companion like Rimbombee with Sticky Web or Tornadus Incarnate with Tailwind can provide additional Speed to your Pokemon, making it even easier for Krookodile to do its job.

While Anger Point can raise the Attack stat by an impressive 12 stages when hit by a critical attack, I would advise against using it due to its unpredictable and situational nature.

Top Moves for Krookodile in Pokemon

Some of the most effective moves for Krookodile in Pokemon are Bulk Up, Scale Shot, Earthquake, and Knock Off.

  • Utilizing the move Bulk Up is highly advantageous as it raises Attack and Defense by one stage, making it a formidable tactic in any battle. I typically employ this move when facing opponents that Krookodile has a resistance or immunity to their attacks.
  • With Bulk Up in effect, incorporating the Dragon-type move Scale Shot is recommended for dealing damage and increasing its Speed by 50%. It is important to note that equipping the Held Item Loaded Dice is crucial in order to ensure that Scale Shot hits four or five times. Keep in mind that this will also decrease the user’s Defense by one stage, but the boost from Bulk Up makes up for it.
  • The powerful 100 base power move Earthquake is essential for any Ground-type Pokemon, as Krookodile has the ability to achieve multiple OHKOs with it, particularly when it is strengthened by Bulk Up.
  • Knock Off is a highly useful move with a base power of 65. It deals 50% more damage and removes the target’s Held Item, effectively disrupting their strategies. This move has proven to be a game-changer in many of my unexpected victories.
