KSI Fans React Negatively After His Response to DanTDM’s Lunchly Critique

KSI recently released a response video addressing the tweets from DanTDM and other influencers who criticized his Lunchly brand, a new competitor to Lunchables that he’s collaborating on with Logan Paul and MrBeast. His reaction, however, did not resonate well even with his own followers.

The rising popularity of KSI’s brands like PRIME and Feastables has allowed him, alongside Logan Paul and MrBeast, to leverage their influence into major marketing campaigns that have quickly captured grocery store shelves. Nonetheless, DanTDM has raised concerns about this trend.

In his initial critique, DanTDM argued that Lunchly fails to contribute anything meaningful for the fans of the YouTubers, accusing the trio of exploiting their fame for profit.

“I can’t stay silent anymore. This is selling products merely for profit. How does this help their fans? This is marketing poor-quality items to children who trust influencers blindly. Do better,” he said.

Other notable YouTubers, including JackSepticEye, expressed support for DanTDM’s stance.

KSI responded with several tweets and a 20-minute video addressing the comments. In an effort to “turn the mirror” back on DanTDM, KSI found that his audience wasn’t receptive to his arguments.

KSI noted that many other YouTubers have utilized their platforms to promote food products, including DanTDM himself, yet he feels as though he and his partners are being unfairly targeted compared to their peers.

“I don’t see the same outrage directed at them on Twitter. I understand now; people simply dislike us. Logan Paul, MrBeast, and I are not well-regarded on this platform,” he explained.

The backlash KSI received extended beyond Twitter. He highlighted numerous memes calling him out on Reddit, responding to some of the most viral posts during his video.

Moreover, the comments on his YouTube video were predominantly negative. While precise dislike ratios can be observed on YouTube videos, the comments offered a stark perspective.

“Man partners with the two most controversial YouTubers right now and responds with, ‘they just hate us for no reason’,” remarked one commenter.

For context, Jake Paul has been involved in multiple controversies, including a legal dispute with Coffeezilla over CryptoZoo. Meanwhile, MrBeast has faced criticism over allegations of mistreatment of his staff and contestants, claims he has yet to address.

“JJ looks increasingly frustrated as the video progresses, which is amusing,” another commenter noted.

Some viewers accused KSI of deliberately selecting tweet responses with minimal likes, ignoring broader community feedback on his posts.

While it’s clear that not all of KSI’s supporters are against Lunchly or its marketing approach, many long-time fans and regular contributors to his subreddit seem to agree with DanTDM’s critique, regardless of their admiration for KSI.
