The latest installment of Boruto: Two Blue Vortex, Chapter 9, has caused quite a stir in the Naruto community with its major reveal. In a surprising turn of events, Kurama, the much-loved Nine-Tailed Beast, has resurfaced. However, rather than returning to Naruto, Kurama has instead chosen to reveal itself to his daughter Himawari. The implications of this development are yet to be seen, leaving fans eager for more information.
As Juda and Hidari continue to uncover Himawari’s hidden strength, her father’s “curse”resurfaces. In the fight against Isshiki Otsutsuki, Naruto’s triumph came with a heavy price. He was forced to bid farewell to his lifelong companion, Kurama. Nevertheless, Kishimoto has deemed it necessary for the Demon Fox to make a comeback.
Kurama’s New Host
During the intense fight with Jura, Himawari was faced with a highly perilous situation. In addition to this, she carried a heavy weight of responsibility for her friends being caught in the crossfire because of her. As a result of her overwhelming emotions, Kurama made the decision to initiate a conversation with her for the first time.
Despite its previous strength and size, the Nine-Tailed Beast is now significantly weaker. Kurama has taken on a puppy-like form, but still retains all nine of its majestic tails. In the midst of the fight against Isshiki, Kurama’s chakra was greatly diminished, leaving it in a weakened state.
Despite this, the bond between Himawari and Kurama will continue to strengthen as Kurama gradually recovers his chakra. As they both develop and grow, this pair has the potential to become just as formidable as the Seventh Hokage himself.
How Did Kurama Perish?
Despite having access to Kurama’s vast reserve of Chakra and utilizing Naruto’s abilities, it was a surprising turn of events when he perished. Nevertheless, in order to defeat Isshiki and protect the world, Naruto required even greater power.
As a result, Kurama came up with a strategy to utilize all of his chakra and activate Naruto’s Baryon Mode. Little did Naruto know, this brief period of immense power would ultimately lead to Kurama’s demise.
It was evident to many dedicated Naruto readers that Kurama would eventually be revived. Kishimoto clarified that Tailed Beasts have the ability to reincarnate, meaning they never truly die. This was evident in the first season of Naruto when Rin, the Jinchuriki of the Three-Tailed Beast, passed away.
In a later part of the series, the Akatsuki successfully captured Isobu, also known as the Three-Tails, after it was discovered wandering the land. Unlike Isobu, Kurama’s fate was different as he was reincarnated directly into Himawari’s body. This rare occurrence has yet to be fully understood, as it involves the complex process of sealing a Tailed Beast inside a human.
Why Didn’t Boruto Obtain Kurama?
Despite being Naruto’s first child, Boruto should have been the clear candidate for inheriting Kurama’s chakra. However, there are still numerous uncertainties surrounding the revival of Kurama, making it impossible to confirm.
One possible explanation for Kurama’s presence in Himawari is that it was either intentional or accidental. It is plausible that Boruto pushed himself beyond his limits, causing him to face near-total depletion of chakra and preventing Kurama from manifesting.
Even more thrilling is the possibility that Boruto possesses Kurama within himself. Yet, due to his Otsutsufication, over 82% of his data may have been overwritten, potentially resulting in the loss or concealment of Kurama’s chakra within this transformation.
