Kwak Tube, a popular travel YouTuber and a victim of school violence during his student years, faced significant backlash after speaking in defense of Lee Na-eun, a former member of APRIL embroiled in bullying controversies and accusations of school violence. This incident followed a prior controversy when fellow YouTuber Dex shared a photo with Lee Na-eun, igniting a public outcry.
Lee Na-eun’s career came to a halt in 2021 after former member Lee Hyun-joo publicly accused her of bullying, which was soon followed by additional allegations of school violence. Although these claims were later retracted, the damage to APRIL’s reputation was severe, resulting in the group’s disbandment in early 2022.
In a recent video, Kwak Tube invited Lee Na-eun to appear as a guest during his travels in Italy. During this segment, he revealed that he had previously blocked her due to the bullying allegations, but he expressed regret for his actions. Lee Na-eun also conveyed her sorrow over being misunderstood. However, after the video featuring Kwak Tube’s defense of Lee Na-eun was released, subscriber backlash was intense, leading to widespread criticism of Kwak Tube.
In response to the negative feedback, Kwak Tube promptly deleted the video and issued an apology, acknowledging his lack of foresight and committing to being more careful in his future content creation.
