Kylie Jenner: Dealing with Hurtful Comments About Appearance

During a discussion, Kylie Jenner was brought to tears while talking about the impact of negative comments on her appearance.

During the June 20 airing of ‘The Kardashians’ on Hulu, Kylie Jenner addressed the backlash she has received for her appearance and cosmetic enhancements.

Despite everything, I am grateful to still have confidence and be able to see my own beauty when I look in the mirror,”the 26-year-old acknowledged to her supermodel sister, Kendall Jenner, during their chat on the couch.

During her discussion, she mentioned her appearance at the 2023 Paris Fashion Week, where she chose a minimal makeup look for the first time. Unfortunately, this decision resulted in her receiving more negative feedback online.

The Kylie Cosmetics founder expressed frustration, stating, “People often criticize me for wearing too much makeup, but when I go without a lot of makeup, I get caught in unflattering lighting.”

The sisters were curious about the reasoning behind people’s hurtful comments. Kendall pointed out that society often dehumanizes them, leading others to believe that there are no boundaries when it comes to talking about them. She also noted that if the same comments were directed towards any other woman, there would be a strong defense in their favor.

Kylie’s question, “Why do people think it’s okay to talk about me?”brought both sisters to tears. In a joking manner, she likened their conversation to therapy and admitted that although she had never cried about it before, it does indeed affect her.

The 26-year-old bravely spoke out about the “hurtful”remarks directed towards her online, particularly those commenting on her appearance and age. She firmly stated, “Even if I did undergo extensive surgery and alter my appearance, it is never acceptable to criticize someone’s physical appearance.”

Despite still feeling “strong”and “confident,”Kylie stressed the fact that she is also human and can only handle so much. She continued by saying, “I always keep moving forward. I have to. I refuse to let negative comments bring me down. I have important tasks to accomplish. I will rise above.”
