Kyuhyun is known as the Breakup Master because of his ballad songs that revolve around the theme of heart-wrenching love.
Which type of breakup would he prefer to go through: being ghosted or being dumped for someone else?
On May 4, he released a new video on his YouTube channel titled “Ghosting vs. Transfer Breakup | Ep. 1.”In the video, his audience requested his insights on “transfer breakup,”to which he responded:
“Ah, that’s really being a jerk. It’s the kind I hate the most. It’s like… your feelings have faded, but there’s no replacement yet so you keep dating. Then you meet someone new, get them and transfer in some cases.
It’s also possible that you really liked this person, but there is someone you like more who comes along, so you transfer in some cases, too. But honestly, you deserve to be cursed out.”
In addition, he was inquired about the concept of “dive breakup,”which is commonly referred to as ghosting. His reply was as follows:
“It’s really trashy. I am the type of person who, when I text, really despises being left on read, than not reading at all. If I ever leave someone on read, I either have to go film but I plan to reply later. I open it and see the messages I was typing are there. I apologized and explained why I couldn’t reply. That’s my style.
But ghosting? I hate it so much.”
Upon hearing that he despises both options, Kyuhyun was faced with the decision to select the lesser of two evils. Without hesitation, the idol declared:
“Ghosting, of course. Because with the transfer breakup, they would have said, ‘Let’s stop seeing each other.’ You know that you broke up. But with ghosting, you don’t know you broke up. It’s the worst, really.”
He also mentioned that while it may be difficult to witness your ex holding hands with the person they left you for, being ignored and then seeing them with someone else will only increase his anger.
Indeed, Kyuhyun himself went through this firsthand.
“A friend that I’m still friends with now, when we were in middle school, I was a total nerd, wearing glasses. In a group, some kids stand out, whether boy or girl. But that girl was being really friendly to me. For the first time in my life, a girl held me and came this close so my heart fluttered.
At the time, there were no cell phones so we passed notes to each other back then. We ended up dating but during the vacation, we had no contact info and we didn’t know each other’s addresses either.”
Eventually, they were unable to see each other on those days. When they both returned to school, he discovered that the girl had already started dating someone new from a different school, without their relationship being officially ended.
