Kyuhyun’s Near-Death Experience: Surviving a Car Accident and Coma

A video titled “Namu Wiki Episode 2 | ep.8″was uploaded to the YouTube channel “KYUHYUN”on June 21st.

In the video, Kyuhyun can be seen reading and verifying the information on his profile on the website “Namu Wiki.”

Kyuhyun, who starred in the 2016 web drama “Bong Soon: A Cyborg in Love” , reflected, “I have always approached my work in movies and dramas without any greed or desire for more. However, I was encouraged to try a web drama as it would not be as demanding, so I decided to take acting lessons.”

Kyuhyun remarked, “Surprisingly, acting was easier than I expected, leading to the outcome that we achieved. When something comes easy, it usually indicates that it’s not going as well as it could.”

Kyuhyun also remembered the car accident that occurred in April 2007 while he was returning to his dorm after a schedule, causing the vehicle to overturn. In 2012, during an appearance on MBC’s “Radio Star,”Siwon stated, “He was very close to death.”

Kyuhyun shared, “I was on the brink of death. I am not seeking any sympathy by saying this; it is the truth. All of my ribs were shattered and I was in a coma for 4 days. Upon regaining consciousness, I found myself in a hospital room. The medical team informed me that three days had elapsed. The doctor had given up hope, stating that I would not survive. As a last resort, they made incisions on the sides of my chest in an attempt to save me.”

Despite the usual rehabilitation process taking over a year, Kyuhyun returned to his activities after just six months following the accident. He openly admitted, “Even though I wasn’t fully ready, I pushed myself because I knew that not being there for the second album would not make it feel like a complete Super Junior experience.”
