LA Earthquake Live Streamed on Twitch: Streamers Woken in Real-Time

A significant earthquake struck Los Angeles, California, and was captured live on Twitch as FaZe members Ronaldo and Lacy were awakened by the tremors.

The 4.7 magnitude quake occurred north of Los Angeles on the morning of September 12, 2024, and its effects were felt throughout the region.

Social media buzzed with reactions about the earthquake, quickly trending on platforms like X and Threads. It also made waves on Twitch, with popular streamer FaZe Ronaldo abruptly waking during Day 12 of the month-long FaZe “clipathon.”

Ronaldo nearly leaped out of bed as the shaking began, piecing together what had just transpired. “Oh my f*cking god… what the f*ck was that?” he exclaimed while reaching for his phone.

However, he wasn’t too unsettled, as just a few minutes later, Ronaldo drifted back to sleep and remained that way for several hours.

Ronaldo wasn’t the only one disturbed by the quake. FaZe Lacy, who was also sleeping at that moment, experienced a similar reaction upon waking.

Ronaldo and Lacy are among the FaZe members residing in the LA-based content house, which also includes fellow streamers Jason and Max, who are participating in the ongoing subathon.

On September 10, the group featured a Kanye West impersonator on their stream and cleverly used him to get free food from McDonald’s.

This is not the first instance of an earthquake being livestreamed on Twitch. In April, numerous creators in New York were shocked and frightened after experiencing a 4.8 magnitude quake.

“Brother, New York is having a f*cking earthquake. I swear to god, New York is having a f*cking earthquake right now,” stated Twitch streamer Oceane at that time.
