The highly anticipated Adventure Week: Taken Over event is approaching on the Pokemon Go calendar, causing excitement among Team Rocket enthusiasts. However, not all aspects of the event have been well received.
Despite some reservations about the Adventure Week festivities, a large number of people are eagerly anticipating the chance to swiftly progress through challenging levels and encounter intriguing Shadow Pokemon, both of which are major perks for the upcoming event.
Despite the excitement for Adventure Week: Taken Over, the announcement has sparked frustration within the community. The event, which will run from August 8-12, includes a Shadow Lugia Raid Weekend and the opportunity to earn Shadow Cresselia by completing Special Research and defeating Giovanni. However, the reveal of Giovanni’s involvement has been met with controversy among trainers.
The presence of Shadow Cresselia in an event graphic posted on r/TheSilphRoad sparked controversy among Pokemon Go players.
Several players expressed their frustration, with one asking, “Why is Cresselia back again?!?”Others shared the same sentiment, clearly disappointed to see the Lunar Pokemon in the line-up. Another player chimed in, saying, “I couldn’t agree more. It’s one of my least favorite raids and it’s back to bore me once again.”
Despite the hopes of many users, it was revealed that Shadow Rayquaza would not be appearing in the upcoming event. This caused disappointment among some, with one user commenting, “It seems like they are determined to keep Shadow Rayquaza from being released.”
One person offered a possible explanation for Rayquaza’s absence, suggesting that it may be because of the upcoming Rayquaza raid hour on Saturday. They joked that having two Rayquaza events within two weeks may be a bit overwhelming.
Even though the event did not include any popular Shadow Pokemon and some players found the ticket price to be too high, there was still a sense of excitement among certain players. For example, one viewer expressed, “I reached level 44 during Lucario Raid day, so I’m looking forward to getting a head start on defeating the Rocket Leaders!”
