Lady Gaga Fan Has Outburst Over Joker 2 Trailer, But There’s a Catch

A video that has gone viral on social media depicts a man making threats towards a theater for not showing the trailer for Joker: Folie a Deux. However, fans have overlooked one important detail.

The highly anticipated Joker: Folie a Deux is slowly gaining attention as its promotional efforts intensify. Recently, viewers were pleasantly surprised with a sudden release of a new trailer, following a nerve-wracking 24-hour live stream of an abandoned TV studio.

However, a fan who missed the livestream seems to have posted a video on X. In the clip, a man can be seen threatening to involve the police in a confrontation with a box office worker at a theater. He appears to be agitated because the screening he attended did not feature the new Joker 2 trailer, and he demands to be refunded.

The man angrily threatens the worker, saying, “If you don’t give me a refund, I swear to god. I paid for the movie but there were 30 minutes of trailers. I specifically wanted to see Lady Gaga in the Joker trailer. I will not hesitate to call the police on you.”

The video is rapidly gaining popularity on social media, as many are ridiculing the man’s exaggerated reaction to the Joker 2 advertisement. Numerous viewers are expressing their disdain, questioning why he didn’t simply view the trailer on Youtube. Additionally, some are using it as an opportunity to mock fans of DC movies in general.

It should be noted that the video’s true nature as a prank has gone unnoticed by these social media users.

Numerous users on X were prompt in pointing out that the man’s outburst had taken place at the IFC Center in New York. Fans were able to determine its location based on the surrounding area and the distinct box office facing the sidewalk.

The IFC Center exclusively screens independent and classic films. Currently, the box office schedule features the indie comedy La Chimera (2023), the musical epic Amadeus (1984), and the French-Japanese drama In the Mood for Love (2000).

Despite the quick recognition of its humorous nature, the fact remains that the IFC Center would not typically feature a trailer for a more recent film such as Joker 2. This comical observation caused the topic to gain some traction, although it was never intended to be taken seriously as a genuine rant.

Despite the viral drama, Joker: Folie a Deux is already generating impressive buzz, being praised by the director of the Venice Film Festival as “one of the boldest, courageous, and innovative films in recent American cinema.”

Despite also receiving its fair share of controversy, director Todd Philip has clarified why the franchise will never fully align with the Batman mythology that served as its inspiration.

The highly anticipated film, Joker: Folie a Deux, will be released in theaters on October 4, 2024. In the meantime, you can delve into the biggest speculation about Lady Gaga’s portrayal of Harley Quinn, or uncover the hidden Batman villain in the latest trailer.
