Latest News: Pokemon Go teases Galar starters & Dynamax in new season

Pokemon Go’s Max Out season is officially introducing Gen 8 content to the game, featuring the Galar starter trio and the Dynamax forms that were previously hinted at.

Despite launching after the release of the popular mobile title, Pokemon Go, Pokemon Sword & Shield were still considered to be massive hits on the Nintendo Switch, even outselling all entries outside of the original Gen 1 games. However, despite their success, content from these games has yet to be integrated into Pokemon Go.

Niantic had previously announced that Dynamax forms would be added to Pokemon Go, but the exact release date was uncertain among fans. However, a recent teaser posted on the official Pokemon Go Twitter/X account has revealed that the new season is coming soon.

The Max Out season is set to take place between September 3 and December 3, 2024. Additionally, it has been confirmed that the three Galar starter Pokemon – Grookey, Scorbunny, and Sobble – will be making an appearance, along with Dynamax Pokemon.

One user on X expressed their frustration, stating, “It took a while for the Galar starters to be added. It’s disappointing that we had to wait so long.”Another user added, “It’s been 3 years since we first got Gen 8 Pokemon added, so it’s about time the Galar starters make it into Go!”

There was a lot of anticipation among fans for the Gen 8 update, but Pokemon Go players are known for their cautious approach. As a result, there was some doubt surrounding the new update and its implementation of Dynamax mechanics.

As one user inquired, “Will Dynamax be released before all the Mega forms are completed?”Another user chimed in, “I believe I speak for everyone when I ask that Dynamax and Gigantamax not be limited to in-person events. Thank you.”

The addition of Pokemon Sword & Shield content to Pokemon Go has been highly anticipated. Due to the gradual release of content in the mobile game, it was only a matter of time before Dynamax forms were introduced. It was simply a matter of when, not if.

With the addition of more Gen 8 content, there may be an increase in the number of players who will log into Pokemon Go and try to capture some of the Giant Pokémon for their team. We will have more information in the near future, as Max Out is set to begin on September 3, 2024.
