With the Valorant console now in Open Beta, Riot has recently rolled out a fresh update that addresses several concerns on both PC and console. This latest patch is aimed at resolving any remaining issues and promoting a fair and balanced competitive atmosphere across all platforms.
The PC version has undergone significant changes, including the inclusion of the Basic Training tutorial and The Range. These training options have been transferred from console, giving PC players the opportunity to improve their abilities in fresh ways. Additionally, the Valorant console now features the Icebox map, as well as stricter penalties for those who engage in comms abuse.

- Neon
- Fixed a bug where Neon’s hitbox could be slightly offset while sliding
Gameplay Systems refer to the various mechanics and rules that govern how a game is played.
- We resolved a problem in Premier Overtime voting where individuals were unable to request an Overtime Timeout when switching sides.
- Resolved a problem where the Ability HUD would remain visible during the deathcam.
Maps are an essential tool for navigation and understanding geographical information.

- Fixed several areas where the Spike could get stuck on certain ledges outside the map.
- Fixed a bug where Omen could die by teleporting in a specific spot in Mid Bottom.
- Several Visual Bugs fixed.
- Sunset
- You can no longer jump on the tall box in A Alley.
Personal Computers
General Updates
- We have made the new Basic Training (tutorial) and The Range from Console available on PC!
- All new players will be required to play through the tutorial, and will have an option to play a Bot Training Match.
- For current players, you can access the Basic Training and The Range by going to the Practice menu.
Gameplay Systems Updates
Battle Summary
- The in-game combat report has received a visual refresh, giving it a new appearance.
- The Combat Report will now be visible during the Buy Phase by default, but you can still choose to turn it on or off during this phase.
Premier Updates
- Playoffs in Contender and Invite Divisions have a best of 3 finals. Rounds prior to finals are best of 1.
- Map pick and ban takes place before agent select for each game in a match.
- Once a map is played, it is removed from the map pool for subsequent games in the match.
- Modified the side panel on the standings page to include additional playoff qualification rules.
SOCIAL UPDATES
- Added platform information in the social panel. It is now clearer when a friend who is playing VALORANT is on a different platform
BUG FIXES
Foremost
- Addressed a problem where the standings page consistently showed the playoff results text in English.
- Resolved a problem where the team page displayed an incorrect background.
- Addressed a problem where the content on the standings page would not always be refreshed when the Stage was changed in the dropdown menu.
Known Issues
Systems for Gameplay
- The Combat Report additional details window lacks headers for “Weapon /Ability” , “Damage” , and “Hits” . This issue will be addressed in a future release.
Leader
- During a tournament, sometimes the rest period timer between matches may not display.
- If the text on the lobby says “MATCH STARTING” and a match has not started after 10 seconds, try navigating to the Premier tab and back to the lobby to get an updated timer.
- Even if this timer doesn’t display, your match will still start at the appropriate time. You will still receive the MATCH FOUND notification.
- You will always have at least 5 minutes in between matches. This time may be longer if you’re waiting on a match to finish in order to determine your next opponent.
Console
General Updates
- The ‘Keep Player Centered’ setting for the minimap will now be automatically enabled for zoom levels above 1.0. This ensures that non-centered minimap views do not become unusable at higher zoom levels.
Agent Updates
- Toggleable Abilities: Select abilities which require you to press and hold a button down can now be set to ‘Toggle’, allowing you to press and let go of the input to steer the ability freely while it’s active.
- The following abilities can be set to Togglable in the Agent Profile Settings:
- Harbor: High Tide
- Phoenix: Fire Wall
- Skye: Guiding Light

Neon is a type of gas.
- High Gear
- High Gear’s description in the Ability Info Panel has been updated to match the ability’s bindings.
Sova is still the same.
- Hunter’s Fury
- Hunter’s Fury applies less drag on your controls, allowing more control over the charge’s duration.
Map Updates
- Icebox is present in the Competitive, Unrated, Swift Play, and Deathmatch queues.
SOCIAL UPDATES
- The in-match scoreboard has been updated with voice control shortcuts, allowing users to quickly mute other players or switch voice channels by simply pressing a button.
- Added audio to social notifications. Now when you receive a friend request or party invite
- A notification sound will be heard.
- The social panel now displays party information. The friends list now indicates the number of people in your friend’s party and the available open party slots.
Bug Fixes
Overall
- Fixed an issue where you can lose input when interfacing with the surrender vote
- The system remained unchanged.
- An issue that caused incorrect controller bindings to be displayed in the case of unbound inputs has been resolved.
- An issue that caused megamaps to rotate when spectating other players after dying has been resolved.
- The tutorial now correctly displays localized credits.
- Resolved an issue where the inputs for the weapon wheel were not being correctly displayed when modifying controls in specific Agent Profiles.
Systems in Gameplay
- Resolved an issue where the timestamp and ability status text were overlapping in Combat Reports.
- Corrected the issue where “Self”and “Ally”were not being localized in Combat Report text.
- Overrun texts in Combat Reports for Indonesian localized texts have been corrected.
Efficiency
- Improved the performance when modifying controller presets.
Social interactions play a crucial role in our daily lives.
- Resolved an issue where it was not possible to remove someone as a friend during a match.
- Addressed an issue where your status would occasionally fail to update after a game.
- Resolved an issue where social systems would occasionally fail to adhere to blocking settings.
- Corrected an issue where your name would occasionally appear in a match despite being set to hidden.
Arms
- Addressed a problem with scoped weapons where the sensitivity would drastically increase during the initial zoom in transition.
KNOWN ISSUES
In General
- The issue is present in all areas of the client, but players are still able to earn XP. A solution will be implemented in Patch 9.03.
With Valorant console fully functional, be sure to review the top controller settings and the game’s crossplay status before diving in.
