Lazy work – Fans disgruntled over Dragon Ball Daima’s recycled Mira character design following latest trailer

The release of the trailer for Dragon Ball Daima on Friday was met with great enthusiasm from fans eagerly awaiting new content. However, there was a significant letdown for fans when they noticed that the character Glorio, a demon gunslinger, had a striking resemblance to Mira, the artificial Demon King featured in the Dragon Ball Online and Dragon Ball Xenoverse video games.

Despite not being a make or break factor for the Dragon Ball Daima project, the design did raise some doubts about the production’s credibility. The premise of Goku turning into a child again has received criticism and some fans have even labeled it a “GT ripoff”. Therefore, incorporating a character design similar to that of the video games did not sit well with some fans.

Dragon Ball Daima faces backlash for Glorio and Mira designs controversy

A trailer for Dragon Ball Daima was released on Friday, and although it was generally well-received, some viewers noted similarities between the design of the new character, Glorio, and that of an antagonist from the Xenoverse video games, Mira.

It could be argued that this reaction was detrimental to Toei’s success, which is ironic given the high demand for new trailers and visuals from fans for this project. The issue arose when Glorio’s design received negative feedback for its lack of creativity, something that was particularly unwelcome for this anime.

Despite the fact that Glorio and Mira appear to be from the Demon Clan, as seen in the trailer, some fans have been criticizing the project for following the same concept as GT in which Goku is transformed into a child. This has led to concerns about the potential lack of originality and fresh ideas. However, it is premature to make this claim before the anime has even aired, and the combination of these elements has not been favorable in the eyes of some viewers.

Trending Topic: Reactions Online

Despite the project’s growing frustration, the recent comments about Glorio’s design have only added to the negative reactions within the fandom. Similar to the 2022 film Super Hero, which also lacked promotional efforts from Toei, Dragon Ball Daima is facing a similar fate. It appears that the company has not learned from their past mistakes in this regard.

Many people find this situation deeply frustrating, as the anime was the final project that author Akira Toriyama was involved with before his passing on March 1 of this year. As a result, fans were hoping for more support for the anime, making the recent design discussion even more disappointing in this regard.

“i knew he looked familiar lol,”someone said.

“This is Glorio from Demon Realm and most likely he is some kind of demonic assassin. Someone say he looks like Granolah, but I think he looks more like Hit. But yes, they clearly took the main design from games,”another person said.

“Mira before he lost his eyebrows and got that line on his cheeks,”someone else said.

Despite the anticipation of many fans to see the exploration of the Demon Clan in Dragon Ball Daima, the premise may not be as thrilling as expected. It is important for people to reserve judgment until the series has been released and experienced.

“Toriyama wrote the plot for Dragon Ball Online. I think we can consider Mira and Towa to be canon. Which means it’s normal for demons similar to them to appear. And having been, Mira, created by Towa. Who knows if this character wasn’t the inspiration for Mira?”someone said.

“Imagine if it was like an android 16 type thing. Like towa made Mira by using Glorio as his template like how gero made 16 by using his son Gevo as his template,”another person said.

The release of Dragon Ball Daima is scheduled for October of this year, which will allow fans to conduct a more in-depth analysis of the series.
