On February 5, a controversy erupted on the Korean forum Pann Nate when an anonymous user accused LE SSERAFIM’s Eunchae of vaping. This allegation quickly gained traction among netizens.

The accusation stemmed from a photo that Eunchae had shared via Weverse Direct Message. In her post, she included an image of her shared meal with friends and captioned it, saying, “I ate with friends. Almost finished doing the dishes and came back.”

However, observant netizens noted an unusual detail in the photograph. In the upper right corner, a UWELL Havok SE vape was visible, prompting the original poster to question whether the 18-year-old Eunchae was legally permitted to use such a device, thereby hinting at a potential wrongdoing.

In response to the allegations, fans and netizens swiftly rallied in defense of Eunchae. Many pointed out that the vape was situated closer to her friend, implying it did not belong to her. Additionally, supporters argued that Eunchae is legally an adult, thus facing no legal implications even if the vape did belong to her.

Here’s a selection of comments from K-netizens defending Eunchae:
- “It’s clear from the seating arrangement that it’s obviously her friend’s vape.”
- “Regardless of whether she smokes or drinks, at 18 she’s an adult, and those choices are entirely hers.”
- “The original poster seems eager to drag Eunchae down without thinking through their accusation, lol. Relax.”
- “She’s legally an adult now; since January 1st, she has the right to drink and smoke. What’s your point?”
- “If that vape were hers, would she have just placed it there? Use common sense, people.”
