Despite the passage of two weeks since their performance at Coachella, the disappointment from netizens regarding LE SSERAFIM still remains.
In September 2022, LE SSERAFIM’s documentary “The World Is My Oyster”was revisited by netizens. One particular episode featured Sakura, who became emotional while discussing the criticism she received for her singing and being labeled as a bad singer.
Despite having a decade of experience in the industry, Sakura has acknowledged that she has received negative feedback on her vocal abilities: “I have been told by many that I am a poor singer.”
The hurtful comments were particularly difficult for her to handle, as she became increasingly emotional while discussing them. She expressed, “Whenever I hear those things, it truly hurts. Every time I enter the recording studio, it’s tough.”
Despite Sakura’s admission that harsh comments had made her want to limit her singing parts in LE SSERAFIM’s songs, she still expressed her desire for equal distribution of singing parts within the group. However, she also expressed her concerns about constantly hearing criticisms and the pressure to perform well.
Despite her being a part of “Produce 48″and prior to her appearance at Coachella, Sakura had already been facing harsh criticism. This was evident during rehearsals for the performance of “Very very very,”where former Sistar member Soyou expressed her disappointment, stating, “I am finding it difficult to focus on this group. Why is Sakura in the center position? Her presence has ruined everything. Her pronunciation is not up to par, yet she’s placed in the center position and isn’t performing well. Why give someone who isn’t skilled the center position?”
Despite Sakura’s statement of “not wanting to run away and work hard”during her controversial Coachella performance, netizens mocked that it seemed like mere empty words.
Despite this, there are still netizens who hold onto the hope that Sakura and LE SSERAFIM will stage a more impressive comeback in order to restore their reputation.
