League of Legends Champion Aurora: Release Date, Abilities, and More

The latest addition to League of Legends’ champion roster has been unveiled as Aurora, a battle mage equipped with excellent mobility and limited range. Below, we have gathered all the information available about Aurora, including her release date and abilities.

Riot has recently unveiled additional details about Aurora, the upcoming mage from the Vastayan tribe in Frejlord, who will soon join the League of Legends roster.

Previously revealed through a leaked emote and in a visual novel, we now have a better understanding of Aurora’s capabilities.

Aurora in League of Legends

Aurora, a Vastayan bunny explorer from the Frejlord, is the solo-lane mid-range mage that Riot has previously hinted at. At last, we are able to witness her abilities in action.

According to the teaser, she possesses the ability to see things that are invisible to others, as suggested by her unique glasses.

Furthermore, she has solidified her place in the Frejlord lore by being prominently featured in the recently released visual novel, Spirit of the Hearth, alongside Ornn.

Aurora’s Release Date for League of Legends

The live servers will receive Patch 14.14 on July 14, 2024, which is also the release date for Aurora.

Aurora

Aurora may have many strengths, but she does have one weakness: range. As a mage, her skills are centered around agility, trickery, and steady damage output rather than sudden bursts of power. To succeed with her, you will need to engage in close combat and remain in close proximity to your opponents.

Below is a comprehensive overview of her kit and abilities, although it should be noted that we currently do not have the exact damage values. Once these numbers are officially released, we will provide an update.

Passive – Spirit Abjuration

Aurora has an irresistible pull on Wayward Spirits.

If Aurora manages to damage an opponent 3 times using her spells and attacks, she will execute an exorcism. This will inflict a proportion of the enemy’s maximum health as magic damage and release a spirit that will enhance her abilities. The spirit will continuously heal her and trigger Spirit Mode, which will temporarily increase her movement speed.

With each extra spirit accompanying Aurora, her bonus movement speed will also rise.

Q – Twofold Hex

Aurora unleashes a cursed energy blast in a specific direction, causing magical damage to any enemies it hits and afflicting them with spirit energy marks.

Aurora brings an end to the curse by reclaiming the spirit energy to herself, causing enemies she passes through to suffer magic damage based on their current health.

W – Across the Veil

Aurora hops towards a specific direction.

After she lands, Aurora becomes invisible and enters the Spirit Realm, activating Spirit Mode for a brief period of time.

If an enemy champion is taken down within 3 seconds of being damaged, the cooldown for Across the Veil will be reset.

E – The Weirding

Aurora opens a portal to the spirit dimension that releases a burst of spiritual energy, causing damage to enemies in the surrounding area and inflicting a diminishing slow for a brief period. The impact also causes Aurora to be pushed back slightly.

R – Between Worlds

Aurora opens a portal to the Spirit Realm, emitting a wave of spiritual energy that inflicts magical harm and hinders any enemies struck by it.

The region temporarily converges with the Spirit Realm, granting Aurora an enhanced Spirit Mode that doubles her bonuses. This allows her to traverse the entire area by simply crossing the threshold.

If any enemies try to pass the threshold, they will be slowed and pushed back towards the center of the area. Aurora has the ability to recast this skill to prematurely end the effect.
