League of Legends Datamine Uncovers Unique Cosmetic Category for Humiliating Opponents

<p>Riot Games is set to introduce a new in-game cosmetic feature in League of Legends, marking the first major addition in years. A recent data mine has unveiled the upcoming Nexus Finishers, showcasing this exciting new development in the popular MOBA.

League of Legends is completely free to play; players can easily download and join without any associated costs. Given its free-to-play model, the game heavily relies on monetization through various customization options, including skins and profile icons.

The primary focus of the developers has long been on skins, which are the main incentive for players to invest money in the game. Riot consistently releases numerous skins throughout the year for different events and skin lines.

However, it appears that Riot is planning to introduce a new category of cosmetics after many years, prompted by recent data mining that hints at the innovative Nexus Finishers in League of Legends.

Renowned League of Legends content creator SkinSpotlights has discovered a new cosmetic codenamed Pineapple within the game’s files. Upon delving deeper into the code, it seems to pertain to Finishers that are specifically aimed at the enemy nexus.

If these theories are correct, this represents the first new cosmetic option introduced by Riot to League of Legends in several years. The MOBA has experienced a significant lull in new cosmetic additions, with the last major release of Clash Banners occurring in 2017.

Notably, Riot has successfully incorporated finisher animations into their other popular title, Teamfight Tactics, where players can view impressive animations while defeating opponents. These new animations in League of Legends could similarly enhance the experience, just on a larger scale.

Implementing this feature would certainly add a layer of insult, as players would not only be securing a victory against their opponents but doing so in a notably boastful manner.

According to the data mined information, Riot appears to be preparing multiple options for finishers, which will be selectable within the client, similar to how emotes currently operate.

At this point, there is no confirmed release date for these new cosmetic options, but players can anticipate their addition to the PBE (Public Beta Environment) in the near future.
