League of Legends Leaks: Popular Valorant Cosmetics Making Their Way to LoL

A League of Legends data miner has revealed exciting news about an upcoming feature: a new type of cosmetic finisher inspired by Valorant. Finishers are popular within Valorant’s gun skin packages, appearing when a player secures the final kill of a round.

Riot Games, known for creating a plethora of cosmetics across its live services titles, appears to be adapting ideas from its first-person shooter to enhance the MOBA experience. These finishing animations vary dramatically, from transforming the map’s colors accompanied by music to epic visuals like a dragon breathing fire on a falling enemy.

The leak was shared by SkinSpotlights on X, indicating that the newly designed League of Legends finishers will likely involve the Nexus exploding, possibly featuring a unique animation for every player to observe at the conclusion of a match.

While League of Legends boasts hundreds of skins and bundles, Riot has yet to develop cosmetics that alter the Nexus explosion or enhance in-game eliminations, aside from some special skins like Faker’s Ahri bundle.

Previously, Riot has experimented with finisher-type animations in limited-time modes, such as Ultra Rapid Fire, which introduced animations for enemy eliminations like orbital lasers; however, these were less intricate than those in Valorant and haven’t been incorporated since 2016, apart from a few skins that reward pentakills.

This concept of finishers isn’t entirely new to League of Legends, but implementing a cosmetic dedicated solely to eliminating foes would represent a groundbreaking addition to the in-game shop.

At this time, the leaks have only disclosed a distinct finisher for the Nexus, but there remains the potential for additional cosmetics reminiscent of those found in the premium champion skins.

In Valorant, finishers are designed not to obstruct player views during gameplay; these cosmetics activate only after the concluding kill that wraps up the round. This approach is similar to the unique pentakill animations associated with various skins, leading to speculation on whether the League team might explore special instances, such as solo kills or multi-player outplays.

While Riot Games has not officially confirmed the introduction of Nexus finishers, an announcement detailing significant updates for the 2025 season is anticipated shortly.
