The 2024 League of Legends LCS Championship concluded dramatically with Team Liquid suffering a defeat due to their base being destroyed by minions in an electrifying final series.
At its core, League of Legends is a competitive game where the main objective is to eliminate the enemy team’s nexus. This creates intense head-to-head battles, especially in professional gaming, where players’ careers, financial rewards, and significant opportunities are at stake.
These opportunities include competing in the annual World Championship, which requires players to travel internationally and face top teams from various regions. However, to qualify for Worlds, teams such as FlyQuest and Team Liquid needed to excel in their own region during the LCS Championship.
This intense series culminated in a thrilling finish, with both squads striving to secure a decisive victory. Ultimately, it was FlyQuest that emerged victorious after Team Liquid’s base was completely overrun by minions.

After winning the final team fight of the fourth match, Team Liquid was poised to press forward and dismantle FlyQuest’s base. With only top laner Bwipo remaining, FlyQuest appeared to be on the verge of defeat. However, Team Liquid underestimated the situation, neglecting their own destroyed bottom lane inhibitor and nexus towers.
Things worsened as FlyQuest’s minions started to swarm Team Liquid’s base, relentlessly assaulting the nexus and gradually reducing its health.
As Team Liquid focused on destroying the last nexus tower, the camera shifted back to reveal their own nexus in ruins. Team Liquid faced an unexpected defeat, not at the hands of enemy champions, but from the relentless super minions that breached their defenses as they attempted to seal their victory.
This critical oversight cost Team Liquid the series, allowing FlyQuest to be crowned the LCS 2024 Champions.
