T1 Keria was ultimately successful in persuading League of Legends developers to include Lux in their Worlds 2023 skin, although it may not have been exactly how they initially envisioned it.
The newest skin line for the winners of Worlds 2023 has been revealed by Riot Games, the developer of League of Legends. As is tradition, the victors of this prestigious tournament are honored with a special skin to mark their victory. The developers collaborate with the players to choose a champion, create the skin, and even animate the recall.
Pro player T1 Keria caused a commotion among fans when they disclosed that Riot had rejected their request to have Lux as their chosen skin for Worlds 2023. The developers refused to let the support player select Lux because they had not used her during the tournament, which is the usual practice for the skin series.
Despite the controversy, Riot made the decision to acknowledge it in the recall animation for Bard’s skin. The animation features Lux holding the trophy alongside the champion.
Despite not being able to personally gift Lux with his Worlds 2023 skin, Keria was still acknowledged with a shout-out in the one he received. It is probable that Keria, having collaborated with Riot on the skin, may have influenced the developers in creating the recall animation.
Bard flies through the recall, eventually finding Lux in tears. He gently taps her on the shoulder and reveals the trophy. Together, they circle around it before finally grasping it in sweet victory.
The skin is currently available on the PBE, indicating that it may undergo modifications before its release on the live servers. However, it is unlikely that such a detailed recall animation would be removed, suggesting that it will be included in the final version of the skin.
With any luck, this should be sufficient to appease Keria. If not, they will have to win another Worlds final in order to possibly grant Lux the desired skin.
