League Players Praise Swarm Mode as Freakin’ Awesome

Swarm Operation: Anima Squad, a recently introduced PvE mode in League of Legends, has been met with enthusiastic reviews from players.

The recently released mode is a bullet-ridden PvE game that supports a maximum of five players and draws inspiration from the popular indie game Vampire Survivors. The last time League players had the opportunity to experience a PvE mode was with the 2018 release of Odyssey: Extraction.

Despite being released just over a day ago, the Swarm has already received high praise from players for its innovative gameplay and exciting features.

A Reddit post in the League forum praised the new game mode, stating that it was “freakin awesome”and that Riot had done a great job with it.

Riot Games has created a litany of new modes for players to try.

The developers were praised by other players for creating a polished and “gorgeous”mode, and many of them wholeheartedly agreed. Although some players had no criticism for the limited-timed game, they did express a desire for more ways to play.

One Reddit user requested, “Can we have more champions, please?”

The game features a limited selection of nine characters, with only two initially accessible. The remaining seven must be earned through gameplay and advancement.

Swarm’s only downside appears to be its lack of compatibility with controllers or gamepads.

One player expressed their fondness for Holocure, a Vampire Survivors game, stating that it is highly enjoyable. However, they noted that one feature that sets it apart from other games is its controller support. The player believes that this game type is best played with two thumbsticks and two triggers, rather than using the traditional WASD + ER controls. They expressed their hope that the game developers will eventually add this feature.

Riot has yet to implement controller support for League of Legends or any other game mode in its client, making this request a potentially challenging task for the developer.

Although the League of Legends developers have announced that Swarm is a limited-time mode, there is a possibility that it could become a permanent fixture if it gains enough popularity and consistent player engagement. In that case, Riot may choose to bring it back and make adjustments as needed.

Riot is also taking steps to ensure the sustainability of the 2v2 battle mode in Arena, similar to their efforts with another project. They are actively working towards making it a reliable option for consistent play.
