Leak Reveals Assassin’s Creed: Shadows’ New Sim-Like House Building Feature

Assassin’s Creed: Shadows is proving to be more comprehensive than earlier versions, as Ubisoft takes cues from classic Sims games in this innovative adventure.

Assassin’s Creed Shadows will undoubtedly deliver an abundance of stealth gameplay, surprise hidden-blade assassinations, and the chance to navigate Japan through the eyes of two diverse protagonists. However, a recent leak from a Gameplay Diary has unveiled that Ubisoft is incorporating several Sims-style features into its gameplay mechanics.

Originally shared on IGN China (before it was removed), a Gameplay Diary leak highlighted numerous details concerning the breathtaking environment, seasonal changes, character movements, and more.

One notable feature that caught the attention during the brief video was the option to design and modify your hideout from the ground up.

With significant implications of dynamic weather, players can construct their own bases.

The video details that protagonists will receive an acre of land to fashion their hideout according to their preferences. Players can showcase their creativity by building and modifying their own homes, positioning them to create a village-like atmosphere, and even designing paths or smaller structures such as water wells to enhance the area.

While former games have included minor customization features, the major alterations spotted in Valhalla, Odyssey, and even Origins and Syndicate primarily focused on protagonist enhancements (aside from limited base expansion in Valhalla). Thus, this level of base alteration marks a significant evolution for traditional Assassin’s Creed titles.

Since this information stems from a leak, the full scope of this feature remains uncertain. Nevertheless, it certainly appears that Ubisoft is inspired by The Sims, allowing for elevated customization and diversity, especially beyond combat, armor, and weaponry.
