Exciting new revelations have surfaced regarding a Pokémon game featuring cooperative multiplayer mechanics, allowing players to ride Pokémon and engage in battle, alongside an unconventional weapon—a gun.

In recent weeks, Pokémon enthusiasts have been buzzing, as Game Freak experienced a significant leak of confidential data, uncovering various unreleased game iterations and much more. Notably, one of these leaks hinted at a Pokémon title that shares gameplay similarities with Splatoon.

Referred to as “Synapse,” fresh details about this project have emerged. As indicated by Centro LEAKS in a post on X, this title is described as an “online cooperative battling game” where players can mount Pokémon and participate in combat.

The primary goal for players is to “capture and ride wild Pokémon.” Leaked gameplay footage has emerged, displaying various Pokémon utilized as mounts.

While mounted on a Pokémon, players can utilize another Pokémon’s abilities by throwing a Poké Ball, showcasing an interactive combat style.

Overall, the concept certainly aligns with what one might expect from a cooperative Pokémon experience—but there’s a distinct twist. Echoing details from earlier leaks, this game features firearms.

The leaked visuals depict a weapon resembling a spray can, suggesting that the game draws inspiration from Splatoon. While there hasn’t been any gameplay footage showing this feature in use, it promises to be a unique addition to the Pokémon universe.

Additional leaked details also indicated the potential for players to customize their Pokémon with painted designs, and that the game was originally slated for release on Nintendo Switch and mobile platforms.

Initially, this project was codenamed “Rodeo.” Speculation arose that Project Rodeo had been shelved, but the concept has reportedly been revived by ILCA/Game Freak under the new name Synapse.

Though it remains uncertain if this game will officially launch, leaked sources suggest that there’s a possibility that a new iteration is “still in development,” as stated by leaked information.
