According to reports, Fortnite will soon be introducing a major UI update in an upcoming release. However, some members of the community are expressing disappointment with the early mock-ups from a reliable source.
The well-known Fortnite insider HYPEX has recently revealed a new concept on Twitter/X, showcasing early visuals of the updated user interface. This new design is a significant departure from the current version of the game, prominently featuring the player’s name, secondary name, platform, and status on the lobby screen.
The current lobby screen displays the player’s name and a friend’s nickname, but the new UI would provide additional information on the main screen. This includes the friend’s tab on the right side of the lobby, which shows their mode, platform, and game mode.

According to the image shared by HYPEX on Twitter, the potential UI changes could result in a more cluttered lobby with a lot of information. However, it would eliminate the need to frequently check the sidebar to keep track of your friends’ activities and current status.
Despite players requesting changes to the Fortnite UI for several seasons, it became evident from the comments underneath the post that this change did not meet the community’s expectations.
One user exclaimed, “This is not the UI update we requested,”in response to the post.
A user also noted that the so-called “UI update”didn’t appear to be much of an update. Rather, it appeared to be alterations solely to the lobby, which is not what the community has been requesting. Instead, they have been anticipating an update to the Locker UI system.
Another user inquired, “I can handle this, but could they please put an end to avoiding a revamp of the Locker UI?”
These changes do not have a confirmed release date, as they are currently in the early stages of development. It is important to approach this information with caution. We will continue to provide updates on the potential release of these changes, whether it be in Chapter 5 or Chapter 6.
